- 1 ready made pie crust
- 4 or 5 potatoes peeled
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
- 2 to 4 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 lb ground Chouriço
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 small green pepper diced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 2 tbsp pimenta moida (wet crushed red pepper)
- dash of garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp hot sause (only if you like it spicy!)
Cook and then mash potatoes with milk and butter. Meanwhile bake pie shell at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Saute onions, green pepper, Chouriço and seasonings. Layer Chouriço mixture, cheese and mashed potatoes into baked pie shell. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool for 10-15 minutes and serve.
