- 1 lb fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 lb ground Linguiça
- 1 stick of butter or margarine
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs (or 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers)
- Parmesan cheese (optional)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash mushrooms and pat dry, remove stem and chop. Melt butter, add chopped stems, onion and ground Linguiça. Simmer until onion is transparent. Add bread crumbs or crushed crackers. Fill each mushroom cap with stuffing, mounding slightly. Place stuffed mushrooms on shallow buttered pan. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 15 minutes.
