Similar to Kielbasa, but with its own unique flavor, Linguiça is a mild pork sausage still manufactured according to an old Portuguese recipe. It is a fine blend of lean pork with a mixture of such basic spices as vinegar, salt, paprika and garlic. After being stuffed into a casing, Linguiça is then smoked until the special flavor and federally required temperatures are reached.
Similar to it’s mild counterpart Linguiça, Chouriço is also a pork sausage manufactured according to the old Portuguese recipe but with a hotter, spicier flavor. It is also a fine blend of lean pork with a mixture of the basic spices salt, paprika, garlic and vinegar but with the addition of hot pepper. It is stuffed into a wider casing and then the Chouriço is smoked until the federally required temperatures and its special flavor is reached.
